Sorry for the lack of posting lately …I’ve been so distracted with the holiday. I want to wish all of you a wonderful Christmas filled with good friends and family, good food and good memories. I’ll try to get back on track with posting in a couple of days, but in the meantime don’t forget to leave cookies for Santa!
Hey there! I don't know if I've ever seen you post about Mad Men (a fabulous, classy show) but there is a style book out by the show's costumer (Janie Bryant) called The Fashion File. It is essentially a lot of tips and helpful guides for being fabulous, classy, and gorgeous in every situation. She's got tips on dressing yourself in the most high-quality and classic items instead of cheap trends and it belongs on everyone's shelf. Love your blog! Chicago forever!
I’ve actually read it, and must agree, it’s a fab guide for any lady (or man) who likes a classic, well put together look. I highly recommend checking it out. Also, while you’re at it, be sure to check out the profile of Janie Bryant in the most recent issue of Matchbook Mag! Thanks for the tip!
Only a half day of work today! I’m still coming in tomorrow, but it will be a day of cleaning and organizing. Today, I’m taking the afternoon to get my hair done (the root situation is starting to become suburban, which I mean in the nicest way possible), finish Christmas shopping (literally, three things left to grab and inspiration is escaping me at every chance it gets!), and then cook a nice dinner and enjoy my decorations at home! I love getting to see all my friends at the holidays, but sometimes it’s nice to just relax at home, too!
This post should be subtitled “Or how I OD-ed on Weddings and Sugar…in that order”
Wedding dress shopping was an adventure - L found some great options, but no winenrs, so it’s back to the drawing board, continuing to search. At the end, it was narrowed down to “Noodles”, “Trumpet”, “Flowers”, and “Cinderella”. All were lovely and very different, and yes, we did nickname the dresses for our own sanity. I will say that I CAN’T believe some of the gowns that people apparently wear for their weddings. Weird stuff is out there, my friends. Weird.
"Friendsmas" was a delight, as always. I ate way too much popcorn and way too many cookies, but the hot chocolate really pushed me over the edge. I was buzzing the whole way home! It was a very thoughtful Christmas this year - adorable candles, great gift certificates, and lovely little beauty items!
